About the Author
His Eminence Hazrat Maulana Shah Syed Waris Hassan R.A., an eminent
saint of the sub-continent, India (passed away in 1355 Hijra) was born
in this "Darul Aulia" in 1282 A.H. Before his birth his elder
brother Tamizul Hassan had died at the age of 19 years leaving his father
grief-stricken. One day an enraptured mystic (Madhzub) named Thabit Ali
Shah came suddenly from Kanpur and told his father that he had been sent
by Allah to deliver the message that after four years an illustrious son
would be born to him, that he would embody the qualities of a scholar of
Shariat and a mystic and would rank among the great Aulia of his time.
He also said that the coming saint would be given the exact name WARIS
HASSAN. The prophecy was to be fulfilled exactly.
Hazrat Maulana Shah Syed Waris Hassan belonged to the Chistiya Spiritual
Order (Chishtiya Silsala).
