REVIEW
THE SUFI PATH is a series of
books or digests containing essays, discourses, and poems
on Sufism and spiritualism. The series contains articles of
not only by the well known Sufi Masters such as ibn Arabi
and Imam al-Ghazali but also by contemporary Sufis of the
20th century.
The first book, Sufi Path Book One,
contains some articles on the basics of Sufism. One of them
has been extracted from the book "Islamic Sufism",
by Hazrat Capt W.B.S. Rabbani. There is also an article giving
a short account of the famous Sufi, Hasan Basri.
An essay by Hazrat Shah Shahidullah Faridi from the book
"Inner Aspects of Faith" on the Belief in God, has
also been reproduced in this issue.
Book Two contains essays on
methods of Sufi Meditation, while Book
Three contains a brief poem by Shams Tabrizi, "Happiness
of Love".
Book Four contains an essay
on "Shyrk" (polytheism) by Shah Shaheedullah Faridi,
plus an extract from the famous Sufi text, "The Hundred
Letters" by Sharfuddin Yahya Muneri, with a commentary
by Shah Shaheedullah Faridi.
Book Five has short essays on
morality in Islam, and another extract from"The Hundred
Letters" with commentary. Book
Six contains an essay on The Love of God by Imam Muhammad
Ghazali, as well as a short piece on Honesty and Justice.
These are a set of enjoyable books, each of which can be
finished in one or two sittings, suitable for readers of all
backgrounds.
