Ihraam: The Ihraam has to be worn near Yalamlam. Just before raeching this point, the ship's crew announces that the Ihraam should be donned. The etiquette of Ihraam has already been narrated in the earlier part of this book. On reaching Yalamlam, the Ka'aba lies northeast. At Jeddah, prayers are directed towards the east.

Jeddah : At reaching Jeddah, one has to first go to the Customs Office. The agents of the Muallims are waiting there. On hearing the names of the Muallims, they step forward and collect the group of Hajjis, board them onto buses and transport them to their appointed residences. The luggage remains behind. One individual from the group should remain behind to assist with Customs. The arrangements to go from Jeddah to Mecca by buses are made by the same agents or Wakils.

Mecca the Blessed: On reaching Mecca, the hair is trimmed after Taw'af and Sai' of Safa and Marwa. Then the Ihraam is removed. For the trip to Medina, the Muallims arranges for the transportation at the aopopinted time, so running about does not avail much.
